Jeff Conlon is a cofounder and the CEO of Everspring. Jeff has more than 20 years of experience running full-service, large-scale, online, and on-campus educational programs for youth and adults. Most recently, he was the CEO of Kaplan Higher Education, a $2 billion subsidiary of The Washington Post Corporation serving 125,000 students online and on-ground. Prior to his work in higher education, Jeff was the CEO of SCORE! Educational Centers, a network of K-10 technology-enabled tutoring centers. Jeff holds an MBA with distinction from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a BA from Brown University.
Beth has 20 years of experience in education, with more than ten years' experience running online, campus, and hybrid education programs. Most recently, Beth was President and COO of Kaplan Higher Education's Campus division. Prior to that role, she was the EVP and General Manager of SCORE! Educational Centers, a network of 170 technology-enabled tutoring centers nationwide. Beth started her career as a consultant to the Department of Health and Human Services, where she worked on effectively scaling federally funded programs for children and youth. She was an associate with the Center for the Study of Social Policy (CSSP) in Washington, D.C., where she focused on social services and education reform. Trained as an attorney, Beth holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School, an MA in Sociology, and BA in Psychology with distinction from Stanford University.
Karen has 25 years of experience developing innovative, technology-enabled learning and support systems. Most recently, Karen was SVP of Academic Affairs for UniversityNow, a social venture that is building a network of competency-based online universities. Prior to that role, she was Chief Academic Officer of the Los Angeles Film School, where she led the development of interactive degree programs in film, animation, recording engineering, and game development. Karen has launched and managed online and hybrid higher education programs serving more than 2,500 faculty and 40,000 students across 60 campus locations. She holds a Ph.D. in Education from Capella University, an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School, an MA in English from the University of California at Irvine, and a BA in English from Harvard University.
Ted brings a breadth and depth of analytical skills and experience working with educational institutions to improve student outcomes. Ted spent three years as a consultant with The Parthenon Group, a leading education strategy and consulting firm. In that capacity, he led efforts to diagnose student obstacles in underperforming schools and formulate effective policy responses. Following his experience at Parthenon, Ted worked as an investor at Adams Street Partners where he sourced, evaluated, and executed growth equity investments in high-growth technology businesses. Ted holds an MBA with distinction from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, where he received the Dean's Award for Academic Achievement, and a BA in Economics, cum laude, from Williams College.
Peter has over 15 years of leadership experience working with Fortune 100 enterprise-level clients. As a Regional VP at Oracle, Peter managed large multi-million dollar technology implementations, integrations and upgrades in a cloud technology space. While at Epsilon, Peter led strategy and execution of a $120 million annual marketing budget for a leading telecommunications provider. He has extensive client management and database marketing experience across several industries — telco, retail, travel and luxury goods. Peter holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Arts in International Business from Wartburg College.
Douglas has 25 years of experience working in higher education; he has committed his life to helping other people achieve their aspirational goals. Most recently, Douglas served as the Executive Vice President for GG+A, the world’s premier philanthropic consulting company for colleges and universities in more than 50 countries. Prior to GG+A, Douglas served as the VP of Sales for Wiley Global Education, providing print and digital resources to faculty and students globally. Douglas started his career in higher education with McGraw-Hill, where during a 12-year period he transformed their business from print to digital solutions while increasing both top-line revenue and bottom-line performance. He was part of MHE’s global rotation, enabling him to work with colleges and universities in China, India, Australia, Southeast Asia, and all of the EU countries. Douglas holds a BA in History and International Relations from Tufts University, where he continues to serve as a leader in the alumni community.
Mike oversees all integrated marketing initiatives for Everspring's university partners. He has extensive experience delivering strategic marketing, brand management, and digital acquisition across the e-commerce, retail, fin-tech, ed-tech, and ad-tech verticals. Mike’s experience prior to Everspring ranges from serving as a Captain in the United States Air Force, where he led key R&D, production and sustainment efforts for the F-22 Raptor, to overseeing all digital acquisition efforts for the LifeLock brand that was recently acquired by Symantec for $2.3 billion. Mike also served as the Brand Manager for the Dial Soap brand where he oversaw the Dial Brand’s innovation pipeline and defined ways to leverage Dial’s equity in new segments. Mike is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he received a bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Sciences. He holds a master's degree in management from the Carl H. Lindner College of Business at the University of Cincinnati.
David has more than 12 years' experience integrating teaching and learning using technology. Trained as a clinical psychologist, he has a deep passion for preserving human connections and relationships within digital environments and has developed a specific expertise in program design and differentiation. An expert in online education, David has led engagements with over 20 premiere universities, provided direct consultation to more than 1,000 faculty members, and launched dozens of online programs spanning engineering, healthcare, psychology & counseling, computer science, business, education, law, analytics, cyber and homeland security, and sports management. His previous roles include Director of Learning & Impact, Director of Faculty Engagement, Academic Program Director, Director of Advisement, and Director of Online Academic Operations. David holds a PsyD, an MA in Forensic Psychology, and an MA in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and a BS in English, Education from Indiana University, Bloomington.
Amir has 15 years of experience developing software and managing institutional technology. Amir is an Ed-Tech veteran with broad experience bringing multiple educational platforms to market, both custom and off the shelf, serving thousands of students from K-12 to Higher Ed. Prior to joining Everspring, Amir was the head of technology at Kaplan Test Prep's Pre-College Division. Amir holds a BS in Computer Science from DePaul University.
Erin has worked in higher education for over 16 years, leading the student services, student management, admissions and operations functions. She has managed coaching and retention for students in on-campus, blended, and online programs for a variety of public and private institutions. She has implemented and managed student services and academic operations for programs at universities including The College of William & Mary, Auburn University, Santa Clara University, and the University of Kansas. Erin is passionate about student lifecycle trends, motivation, and metacognition, including researching when and how to use particular strategies for improving student persistence. Erin has also worked to implement collaborative policies and procedures to enhance and improve the student experience at each partner university. Erin plays a critical role in overseeing both student service functions and program operations. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing from Eastern Illinois University.
Cathy is Everspring's Vice President of Operations. Her responsibilities support a wide range of key functions including academic operations, accreditation support, and marketing. Cathy is a champion-certified Six Sigma project manager with 15 years' experience in complex project management and business process outsourcing in higher education and professional services. Cathy has led several nationwide process improvement initiatives that centralized critical components of student and administrative support. Cathy also has substantial experience with the regulatory, legislative and accreditation-facing aspects of program and services implementation, including obtaining program approvals from state licensing bodies, regional accreditors and programmatic accreditors. She holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and graduated cum laude from Kalamazoo College with a BA in Psychology and International Studies.
Yvonne has spent the last 12 years building and launching new innovative products across the Telecommunications and Education spaces. She holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, a BS from Northern Illinois University, and has earned the CPA and PMP designations.
Varun has spent the last 13 years honing his IT skills specializing in Technology Architecture and Enterprise System Design. Prior to Everspring, Varun worked as a consultant with Accenture, building platforms and delivering custom solutions for clients across several industries including Government, Banking, Insurance, Products, and Health Care. He has led technology teams across multiple geographies, helping synchronize efforts towards large deliveries, and continues to do so at Everspring. Currently pursuing an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Varun holds an MS in Computer Science from the University of Chicago, and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Chicago with a minor in Economics.
Tom oversees all integrated marketing initiatives for Everspring's university partners. He holds extensive B2C and B2B marketing experience across e-commerce, retail and high-tech industries. Prior to Everspring, Tom was the SVP of Marketing for the Gourmet Foods and Gift Baskets Division at 1800flowers.com. During this time, Tom led all integrated and cross-channel marketing for the division, including strategic brand development, digital media and multi-platform advertising initiatives. He also served as Group Vice President of Brand Marketing for Orbitz Worldwide, where he led the multi-million dollar brand advertising and media strategy for several brands. Tom is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where he received a bachelor's degree in marketing and communications. He holds a master's degree in management from Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg School of Graduate Management.
Mike was a founding member of Everpsring's executive team and played a key role in Everspring's rapid growth, and now serves as a Senior Advisor to the company. He has over 30 years of experience designing solutions for leading organizations and has an extensive background in developing strong client relationships that build long-term capabilities within partner organizations. Mike holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba, Canada, and is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries.
