The Associate Instructional Designer role at Everspring is an ideal role for someone that has recently gotten their Master's degree and looking to gain experience in higher education course development with a successful, late-stage startup. The Associate Instructional Designer works within a multi-disciplinary course production team to translate traditional courseware into online formats in innovative and compelling ways.

Made up of creative services, instructional design and quality assurance, our Learning Design team inspires, engages and empowers each other to create the next generation of learning. This collaborative team works to translate traditional courseware into online formats in innovative and compelling ways to create innovative online courses for our university partners.

This is an on-site position in the Chicago Loop close to both Ogilvie and Union Stations

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build assigned courses under the supervision of more senior IDs, creating innovative online courses that meet the quality specifications of our partner faculty and meet the deadlines of the Production Schedule
  • Under the supervision of more senior IDs, communicate with faculty at our partner universities, guiding them in course development
  • Collaborate with faculty to adjust content for available delivery methods to support desired learning outcomes, moving from a high level course plan to a detailed course design format
  • Collaborate with a team of online course producers to produce and/or source multimedia learning objects (video, audio, interactive objects, simulations, etc.)
  • Participate in the creation of Instructional Design team development materials, such as training, pedagogy, academic technology, multimedia production, accessibility, research, etc.
  • Travel to partner university locations upon supervisor's request (occasional)
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

There is an exciting role possibly waiting for you as an experienced cloud systems guru that has one foot planted in Security in the Cloud and the other in DevOps Automation. This role does not come around often, and we have an opening available for it. In this role, you will wear multiple hats, working closely with the developers to design and buildout DevOps Automation, while working with the Director of Technology to maintain our Cloud infrastructure. This is a forward thinking, and exciting role well suited for someone looking to get their hands dirty in a lot of different areas at a brisk pace.

Your responsibilities:

Cloud Engineering & Security

  • Build and maintain reliable infrastructure and security services in AWS to deliver highly available and scalable services. Use native AWS infrastructure services such as EC2, EBS, Auto Scaling, Cloudwatch, etc.
  • Basic system administration tasks such as configuring servers and applications, automating routine tasks, backup/restore, etc.
  • Provision and maintain accounts/roles in AWS, manage VPN, install SSH keys, etc.
  • Serve on the on-call team, and as an escalation contact for service incidents

DevSecOps

  • Build engineering automation and productivity tools to streamline and scale applications across all environments and ensure integrity of security practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application development, deployment and operations.
  • Work collaboratively with all participants in agile software development project and support developers and testers as they set up their build Dev / Test environments.
  • Automate everything to minimize manual work and meet security and compliance objectives in all aspects of the secure cloud ecosystem.
  • Integrating automated software tests with the build process
  • Script with deployment automation tools e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc.
  • Implement automated high-availability deployments
  • Become proficient in understanding how each software component, system design and configuration is linked together to form an end-to-end solution

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years as a DevOps/Sys Engineer (or similar position) in a production capacity
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of Linux, Automation Tools (Ansible or Puppet), AWS Services (EC2, Network, ELB, S3/EBS, etc.) or similar Public Cloud platform, and scripting languages (Shell, Python, PowerShell or other).
  • Knowledge of SQL & NoSQL databases
  • Hands-on experience in working with security systems including firewalls, intrusion protection/detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management and content filtering etc.
  • Knowledge of security concepts such as (cloud) Authentication, Authorization, web attacks (DDOS, SQL injections, person-in-the-middle, etc), securing web application, payload encryption & decryption, environment security, etc.
  • Strong understanding of network concepts including TCP/IP, HTTP and TLS.
  • A track record of delivering IT and application automation using these automation tools.
  • Experience designing/deploying highly available middleware or application components.
  • A willingness to be flexible in responding to customer issues as they occur, and the ability to identify product/deployment improvements to mitigate future occurrences.
  • Experience with cloud hosted apps/service (AWS experience preferred, but Azure, Google Cloud or similar can work too) and able to translate business requirements into securely implemented capabilities in the Cloud
  • Possess knowledge of systems infrastructure with domain expertise in areas such as networking, storage, high availability, cloud security, application performance, etc.

Position

Our Marketing team is the voice of our university partner online programs. We are looking for someone who is passionate about higher education and working with traditional universities to develop market leading value-based solutions. This position reports to the SVP of University Partnerships and works closely with the senior leadership team.

This position is based at our headquarters in the Chicago Loop near both Ogilvie and Union Stations

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with stakeholders at prospective universities to create, implement and sell Everspring solutions
  • Develop and execute a contact management strategy and sales presentations that effectively produce opportunities at top prospective partners
  • Create and implement sales solutions to drive business growth within Everspring’s target market of elite nationally and regionally ranked universities
  • Lead effective and compelling conversations across all levels of prospective university partners to communicate Everspring’s value
  • Engage university stakeholders (Provosts, Deans, Associate Deans, etc.) in problem solving to overcome internal hurdles and keep pipeline moving forward
  • Operate as a sales leader to build and manage a healthy pipeline in order to exceed quota
  • Act as a quarterback to internal teams at Everspring and with the university to explore and identify the best solution offerings and scope of services
  • Communicate proactively with internal leadership at each phase of the sales process, up to and including solution implementation handoff to ensure a seamless experience for our University partners
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Everspring’s customized and value-based solutions
  • Regular travel expected and dependent on potential sales opportunities. Occasional travel to Chicago headquarters.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8+ years of sales experience with substantial recent experience in higher education; product and/or software sales experience preferred. Bonus points for experience working in enterprise sales or in a start-up environment
  • Thrive in highly complex sales cycles and team-based selling environments
  • Demonstrated success in developing complex services relationships:
    • Ability to cultivate relationships from the earliest stages
    • Excellent sales strategy and selling skills operating in a large scale, complex sales environment
    • Proven experience in building and developing senior client relationships
    • Excellent internal and external communication skills
  • Proven track record of executing against aggressive growth strategies and delivering sales targets in excess of company expectations Other Attributes That Will Help You in This Role:
